Dear friends! After a long absence from the web, here we are again to tell you about a new adventure to the North! Tomorrow morning we are going to fly to Svalbards Islands for the tird time. This new “expedition” will be plenty of surprices, but I don’t want to move up to you anithing. Follow us!

Look at this amazing video about a friendship between two Polar Bears and some sled dogs. Surprising!

Life flows slowly during the dark winter in Longyearbyen. We visited the doghouse and took some footage of people taking care of sled dogs, after a trip in the polar night. How incredible are these wonderful animals!

Dioxy is a great celebrity in Longyearbyen! Some people played with making a cake dedicated to her. Here the surprise we found at Kei Ogata’s (with me in the picture)  farewell party.

My arrival in Parma’s train station, after 3.700 km e 28 hours of travelling, a bit hard with 35 kg on my shoulders, luckily I didn’t cover the distance by foot!

The inside of the cabin. The cabins are places like refuges where people can stay, eat something, drink together, light up a fire and have relax in a warm and comfortable environment.

Longyearbyen photographed from a rise in the Adventdalen valley. On the right you can see the harbour and the industrial district.

The Hiortfjellet rises in front of Longyearbyen, we photographed it two days ago to make some test with our equipment in low temperatures: -20° C. The camera worked very well, except for some problem with the autofocus, but the tripod was unusable.

Dear friends, we are guests of The University Centre in Svalbard. They gave me a place in the guests’ room with internet connection and all the comforts I need, it’s beautiful to know that there are places in the world where things work well. As you can see from my face the breakdown due to the complete darkness is growing up! Let’s hope for the best…

During the flight between Oslo and Longyearbyen we abandoned the last twilight to go inside the arctic night. The total darkness starts around the Byornoya Island, the bear island. Here you can see our arrival in Longyearbyen at 2:00 p.m.

Here the Tromso airport at 12:00 o’ clock. We are beyond the polar circle and in this season the sun remains always under the horizon, but at this latitude you still can see reflected light during the middle of the day.
