The Hiortfjellet rises in front of Longyearbyen, we photographed it two days ago to make some test with our equipment in low temperatures: -20° C. The camera worked very well, except for some problem with the autofocus, but the tripod was unusable.

They gave me a place in the guests’ room with internet connection and all the comforts I need, it’s beautiful to know that there are places in the world where things work well. read more >During the flight between Oslo and Longyearbyen we abandoned the last twilight to go inside the arctic night. The total darkness starts around the Byornoya Island, the bear island. Here you can see our arrival in Longyearbyen at 2:00 p.m.
read more >Here the Tromso airport at 12:00 o’ clock. We are beyond the polar circle and in this season the sun remains always under the horizon, but at this latitude you still can see reflected light during the middle of the day.

I’m here for a work/holiday, we have some meeting to discuss two new projects, one for the web and a new video-animation, that will start in 2013, but at the same time I want to experiment with the arctic winter. I’ll try to tell you some impression about the arctic night and I also want to test my equipment in extreme weather conditions. Let’s see what’s going to happen…
